1. RM
RM is one member of BTS who has admitted to having a girlfriend. On an episode of Problematic Men, RM discussed the relationship he had in high school. His ex girlfriend was popular with boys, and would often make him doubt himself. The two eventually broke up because of this.
Although he didn’t openly admit to other past relationships, some things he mentioned made fans suspicious.
In 2017, after an interview with Billboard, RM drew a lot of attention for the way he answered a question about the group’s album Love Yourself: Her. The interviewer said that he felt the whole album was really introspective and asked if it was meant to be this way. RM’s answer had fans wondering if he had a secret girlfriend.
“I think that was the fastest work I did for this album. I wrote the verse in 20 minutes. It just came, very truthfully, from the bottom of my heart. I thought it was the right outro (“Outro: Her”) for this album because it is really a range of emotions. I’m saying I met this person that I really love, this person is the love of my life right now. I’m saying that I was confused and I was looking for love and this world is complex. But I think it’s you so, ‘I call you her, cause you’re my tear. It’s also notable how skillfully BTS (particularly RM), are at avoiding dating questions. Both times they were on Ellen they managed to dance around the subject, which continues to raise fans’ suspicions.
When BTS made their second appearance on Ellen they expertly danced around the girlfriend question by mentioning Ellen’s comment from their first visit!
While RM has only admitted to the single relationship in high school, he claims that his ideal type is someone who’s both smart and feminine, looks good in casual clothes, can be sexy, and doesn’t smoke or go clubbing often.
2. Jin
In 2015, Jin faced rumors that he was dating comedienne Lee Guk Joo. The rumors started when comedian Jo Se Ho publicly joked that Lee Guk Joo was dating a handsome idol trainee. The rumors gained even more traction when netizens found out that Lee Guk Joo and Jin were close.
Jin had previously revealed that his ideal girlfriend would be on the chubby side, and the rumors continued to spread until Lee Guk Joo spoke out onRadio Star.
She said that Jin was never her boyfriend after all.
Besides this rumor, Jin has stayed relatively free from other dating rumors.
Jin says his ideal type is someone with a puppy-like face and personality. He wants to date someone with good cooking skills a kind heart. He also admitted he has a crush on Anne Hathaway.
3. Suga
In middle school, Suga submitted a letter about love to a local radio host. He had said that he shyly fell in love with a fellow classmate. He had befriended her but wasn’t able to tell her how he truly felt.
Eventually, he wasn’t able to deny his feelings and confessed. She said yes and the two began dating. Unfortunately, things were very awkward between the two. He admitted that the two didn’t date long because of their problems and broke off their relationship.
Suga is known for his open support of LGBT rights.In one interview with Oricon Style in 2014, Suga was asked what he first notices when he looks at girls. He responded by saying, “I focus on personality and atmosphere. I don’t have an ideal type, and it’s not limited to a girl.”
Suga stated that currently he isn’t in a relationship because he doesn’t need one. Instead, he’s serious about his job as an idol and is busy working on music.
4. J-Hope
On an episode of Rookie King, J-Hopesaid he would be performing Dynamic Duo‘s “Solo” because it reminded him of his past girlfriend. He reminisced about how the song played after his girlfriend left him for another man.
Although the memory was painful for him, he said it was nice to perform the song and remember all of the memories he’d made with her in the past.
Aside from his high school girlfriend, it’s unknown whether he’s been in any other relationships. His ideal type is someone who loves to read, takes care of others, and is good at cooking. He desires someone who will support him and only think about him.
5. V
V revealed the tale of his one-sided love from the past. He had planned to confess to her, but she never picked up the phone.
While V broke hearts with his love story, he later confessed that he had multiple girlfriends in the past, although none of them were serious.
“I’ve have never been in a serious relationship. Actually, I couldn’t refuse a confession. I think that’s the reason why I have never been in a relationship for more than 20 days.”— V
V’s ideal type is someone who first appears cold but actually has a warm heart. He wants to date someone who is kind and respectful to her parents and can help him manage his money. He has said that actress Kaya Scodelario is close to his ideal type.
6. Jimin
Jiminalso had a one-sided love in the past. Whenever he was near his crush he would blush and his heart would go crazy.
Although Jimin has faced dating rumors with other idols, all were proven to be fake. Jimin has never publicly admitted to having been in a relationship with anyone.
During an interview on Idols True Colors Radio, Jimin confessed he likes someone who is cute and has odd charms.
When the MCs asked him to elaborate what he meant by “odd charms” he went on to say that he likes someone who is a bit silly.
He said he’d like it if his girlfriend was shorter than him. Although he doesn’t have someone in mind similar to those traits, the right girl will come along someday.
7. Jungkook
Jungkookhad a couple rumored girlfriends before his debut. The first was with a fellow classmate by the name of Park Se Won. Fans claimed to have found a picture of the two of them.
Park Se Won also tweeted about her boyfriend that was “too busy to spend time with her”, and which time Netizens discovered a photo of what looked like Jungkook kissing her. Ultimately the identity of the boy in the photo was never confirmed, and the truth of the alleged relationship never came to light.
Jungkook has said his ideal type is someone with a healthy body but is also very intelligent. He wants someone who is great at singing and cooking. Since he is very competitive he wants someone that is just as competitive as him.
Jungkook has also been known for his massive crush on singer IU. He’s confessed multiple times that she is his ideal type and has been caught fanboying during some of her performances.
