Why You Will Love This Recipe

If you're hosting a summer party, watermelon margaritas are a fun and festive drink to serve. You can easily make a big batch in a blender and serve them up in a pitcher, making it easy for guests to help themselves.

Another great thing about watermelon margaritas is that they're customizable. If you prefer a sweeter drink, simply add more simple syrup. If you want a stronger drink, add more tequila. You can even add a splash of pineapple juice or coconut cream to give it a tropical twist.

Ingredients Needed

  • Sugar - Or regular granulated sugar, I do not use sugar substitutes in any of my recipes but if you know the conversions feel free to do so
  • Lime wedges
  • Cubed seeded watermelon is a tasty and healthy snack that is perfect for a hot summer day. Watermelon is a low calorie fruit that is high in vitamins A and C, as well as antioxidants.
  • Tequila is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from the blue agave plant, primarily grown in the area surrounding the city of Tequila, northwest of Guadalajara, and in the highlands (Los Altos) of the central western Mexican state of Jalisco.
  • Triple Sec is a type of liqueur that is used in many popular co*cktails, including Margaritas, Cosmopolitans, and Long Island Iced Teas.

Tips for Watermelon Margaritas

Watermelon margaritas are a refreshing twist on the classic margarita co*cktail. Here are some tips to make your watermelon margaritas stand out:

  1. Use fresh watermelon: The key to a great watermelon margarita is using fresh, ripe watermelon. Avoid using pre-cut watermelon that may have been sitting in a container for a while.
  2. Blend the watermelon: To make the perfect watermelon puree for your margaritas, blend fresh watermelon chunks in a blender until smooth. Strain the puree to remove any pulp.
  3. Don't forget the lime: Margaritas are not complete without the tartness of lime. Squeeze fresh lime juice into your watermelon puree for a tangy kick.
  4. Choose your tequila wisely: The type of tequila you use will greatly affect the taste of your margarita. For a smoother, more refined taste, opt for a high-quality tequila.
  5. Add a kick: Want to spice up your watermelon margarita? Add a dash of hot sauce or a slice of jalapeno for an added kick of flavor.

How do I make a frozen watermelon margarita?

Frozen watermelon margaritas are a refreshing and delicious summer drink that can be enjoyed by anyone, whether you're lounging by the pool or having a backyard barbecue with friends.

Start by blending together chunks of watermelon until they are smooth and there are no chunks left. Add in the tequila and lime juice, and blend again until everything is well combined.

Next, add in the ice and blend again until the mixture is smooth and slushy. Pour the mixture into glasses and garnish with a slice of watermelon or a wedge of lime.

These margaritas are perfect for cooling down on a hot day, and the sweetness of the watermelon combined with the tartness of the lime and the kick of the tequila make for a tasty and refreshing treat. So go ahead and give them a try - your taste buds will thank you!

Have you tried watermelon jolly rancher sugar free water flavoring powder? Works better without the sugar. Little goes a long way. I use that along with Bai sparkling watermelon lime water, muddled watermelon and fresh lime. Takes it down to no sugar outside of naturally occurring in the watermelon. If you still want that orange liqueur flavoring opt for orange extract. Cheers!

That would be nice if 6 margaritas were only 105 calories. 😉
