How difficult is Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker? ›

There are multiple levels of difficulty within each stage. Simply clearing each stage and collecting the Power Star is usually quite manageable though some stages, particularly those at the end of Episode 3 and the Bonus episode, are pretty difficult just to get through.

The player has two hitpoints that can be lost by being hit by enemies. If the second hitpoint is lost, the player must restart the level. However, if all lives are lost, the game is over.

There is high replayability to each level, because there is so much to do in each one of them and all of them look AWESOME! You can search for 3 gems in each level, track a star in each one of them (the goal of each level), try doing extra challenges and look for hidden pixel toads!

There are 18 stages in the first two episodes and 28 stages in the third episode. 192 gems in total. I've unlocked 13 bonus stages so far and 100% the first two episodes. There are still 7 pages blank in the bonus book though.

Toadette is also a main character in the game, and is playable during certain parts of the episodes in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.

As far as game length goes, it took me a little more than 10 hours to play through every level in Captain Toad. I did repeat several levels along the way in order to 100% it. So, if you're just interested in getting stars, it won't take as long.
