My review

I attended a media preview of the experience before it opened, and learned about the experience from their team including Lighthouse Immersive’s producer and co-founder Corey Ross, along with Mayor Jacob Frey.

You may have heard about Lighthouse Immersive, as they previously had the “Immersive Van Gogh” experience here, which we enjoyed.

What a journey it has been to get this to this point, and an incredible idea to create this. It was created in collaboration with Disney to celebrate 100 years of Disney Animation, as this year happens to be the anniversary.

We explored the entryway which had a cool Animator’s desk and photo opportunities.

Then it was time to enter a dark gallery through a long hallway, where wristbands started lighting up for those who had them.

The wristbands, by the way, are for VIP passholders only, and they light up in synch to the experience. Kids who had them were very excited when they started lighting up on their wrists, but honestly, I think the wristbands are unnecessary and kids forgot about them after a few minutes, as there is so much else to hold your attention here.

The first room was the Animation gallery, which had classic Disney animation on the walls, as well as displays with information.

There was also a table here with supplies to create your own drawing of a Disney character.

We were done in this room in less than 10 minutes.

Then it was time for the main part of the experience: a 40-minute truly immersive show. It blended many Disney animated movies beautifully.

This show included full-length songs from many movies spanning almost a century, starting with The Lion King, then Pocahontas, Encanto and Frozen 2 and many more.

Everything is illuminated around you – from the walls to the floors. Expect to look behind you, at the floor, left and right, all throughout the show, as there’s always something happening and changing everywhere.

It was so fun just watching little kids dancing to the music and so full of joy. Little kids absolutely LOVE it here.

Do teens like it? My kids grew up on Disney and they were completely engrossed in the whole experience. And actually it was good to have them there because I kept asking my daughter “Which Disney movie is this?” There were several I didn’t even recognize but that she knew.

I heard that there were bubbles, but we didn’t notice them at all when we were there. Somehow we missed them! Later I learned that they come from a bubble machine in the middle of the room, but we were so busy watching the show we just missed that.

There are some songs that are meant to tug at the heartstrings, including from Frozen 2, and they will for many Disney fans.

Is it worth it? Yes, if you or your kids love Disney. It is a touching and unique experience unlike any other.

My tips:

I don’t recommend paying full price for this event. I think it can get a bit pricey for a family (tickets start at $28 on weekdays and are more expensive on weekends) but you CAN get discounted tickets. Buy tickets through my exclusive ticket discount link here.

Don’t bother getting the VIP passes with wristbands unless you expect to come back here multiple times. The VIP passes do allow return admission for 30 days and a poster at the end.

Be sure to park in the back of the building for free parking. Otherwise it’s $10.

Allow an hour for the whole experience.

Be sure to get up and walk around – if kids want to dance, let them. You can too! The space is designed for that.

Try to get to the room as early as possible. They let VIP passholders in first, but there were plenty of benches left once we got in with our regular passes. There are no backrests on the benches so our backs got tired by the end, but we were ok for the most part.

Watch for the bubbles! We missed them but they come from the middle of the room. I heard they come out during the Little Mermaid part.

There is a gift shop at the end with expensive souvenirs. You can get the same items online for much less.
