Stick with me. I promise this will make sense. I made a hair appointment back in March, with W Salon, in Burke. I showed up right on time for my appointment. They said that I was somehow booked with Reflections of You, 20 min away. They are under the same management. I went over to Reflections of You, since they said (over the phone with W Salon) they'd still see me, despite the confusion. Huge bonus points for that. After talking to my stylist once I finally arrived at Reflections, she said that the Reflections phones had been down the week before so they were forwarded to W Salon. So it wasn't my fault. Anyway. My stylist, Sofia, was so nice! She was very personable and very easy to talk to. She was so kind to work with my late arrival. But I'm very disappointed with my hair. I was very clear with what I wanted - high lights, low lights, full foil. She talked me out of low lights saying my natural color would be fine with highlights only. I was doubtful, but exhausted from the day, so let her do her thing. She also painted in bleach on my tips towards the end, which has now made my hair impossible to comb out. She used toner, before letting me know what she was doing, which burns my scalp. I thought she had just been washing or conditioning my hair. Needless to say, I'm really disappointed with my experience at Reflections of You. It was certainly not worth the $285.

I was in fairfax from out of town and its always scary not knowing what kind of service you will get in a place you aren't familiar with. I was helped by Keyanna and she was a sweet heart. Very knowledgable and experienced. I would certainly recommend anyone to her for her services. If i lived in this area i would be a regular. hank you Keyanna. I will be requested your service if I'm ever back in this area.

Gloria is a wonderful hair stylist!! I have been seeing her for almost 2 years now and she continues to provide me with an amazing service every time. She truly cares about her clients and their satisfaction. She takes her time and makes sure that you get your money's worth!

Over the last 25 years I have only met two stylists (both men) who could take my hair from long to short beautifully and technically. I'm not a fan of the middle aged female short cut with highlights and fussy trimmings, but also not super edgy- no shaves or asymmetrical cuts please. So, after many days of research, I decided to give ROY on Lee Hwy in Fairfax, VA a chance. I called the salon, left a message and they called promptly. I was very specific in that I was looking for someone who did technical short cuts (color discussion optional). I was happy to receive an 8 am appt with Yeay (sp) who I was assured could oblige my request. I got there on time, temperature taken and hand sanitizer and had a seat in a chair. Yeay came over and I showed her some photos of my hair and the versatility of it (shot, long, curly (naturally) straight, wavy). I asked her what she thought. I believe a good hairstylist has confidence in their ability to guide the customer to a great solution. After about a 25 minute talk, she told me she wasn't the person I need for the cut and after discussion with the owner (who was in the back room) they agreed Tisa would be the person for me, but that she wouldn't be in until 0930 and could I come back? I agreed, but as I was driving away to kill some time until that appt, I just really didn't have a good vibe and called and cancelled. They didn't do anything wrong- except in the beginning when they clearly understood my request and yet didn't match me with someone who could accommodate.

We visited once for my daughter's haircut. The staff is friendly and the salon looks pretty. Between the dark turquoise colored walls and tacky diamonds light fixture, you get the idea of "boutique." The hair cut - "Please chop 10 inches off my 7 year old's hair. No layers, no blow drying, nothing. Just a simple cut." It cost $68.00. No issues with the hair cut or the stylist whatsoever. All this place is? An overpriced "boutique" salon.
